11-016 - Extended Care Paramedic

 

Do you have a passion for urgent community care?

Wellington Free Ambulance has been successfully running the Urgent Community Care service for over 2 years in the Wellington region and we are always keen to hear from motivated and enthusiastic paramedics who are willing to expand their knowledge and experience to become Extended Care Paramedics.

ECPs with WFA are given the skills and knowledge that allow you to achieve the following:

  • Treat and Leave/Refer patients with non life threatening conditions.
  • Access alternative care pathways to avoid unnecessary ambulance transport to Emergency Departments.
  • Work with other health care professionals to treat people in their homes and avoid inappropriate hospital admissions.
  • Provide extended care for patients that are seriously ill or injured
  • Provide clinical support to other ambulance personnel as required
