Payroll Guru
Wellington Free Ambulance is a charitable organisation that provides expert, timely and free-to-the-patient paramedical care to the community, and has done so for over 80 years. We are committed to delivering excellence to our community and staff. We currently have a vacancy for a payroll professional to manage the in house payroll and support a project to improve the related systems and processes. You will be part of a small team and will manage the end to end payroll function for the entire organisation. The role is based at our Headquarters in Thorndon. The successful applicant will: • Have proven payroll experience (experience with shift work would be an advantage) • Have an excellent understanding of all payroll legislation (i.e. Holidays Act, Wages Act) and the ablility to interpret complex employment agreements • Have outstanding numeracy skills and a methodical approach to payroll • Have excellent communication skills, both oral and written • Be able to analyse information and use their own initiative to problem solve and improve processes • Be able to work autonomously to meet payroll deadlines • Have a mature attitude and provide excellent internal customer service • Have excellent attention to detail • Maintain confidentially at all times • Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, especially excel We currently work on Datacom's Datapay system, and are in a phase of process improvement. Therefore your contribution to positive change will be essential and will provide an excellent opportunity for the right person to make this role their own and take on board an exciting challenge. This is a full time permanent vacancy, but we are also interested in receiving applications from suitable candidates who are interested in a fixed term contract.
